MEET THE OWNERS OF THIS RESTAURANT!

The Portland store is another collaborative effort between Ron Epple, Co-Founder of the Chicago’s franchise, as well as the Bogue and Tarter families of Winchester and Randolph County. It is the second store this ownership group has opened.

Matt & Jen Tarter were Jay County residents for many years in the 2000’s. “We loved our time living in Jay County, and to be honest, I didn’t plan on leaving but some business opportunities took me back to my hometown,” said Matt Tarter. Matt and Jen think of Portland as a second home. When reminiscing about the Jay County community, many thoughts came to their mind but none greater than the strong community that exists there.

The group was fortunate enough to acquire the former bank building on the north end of town. Significant investment was made to transform it into a functional restaurant. “We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It has a great layout and a very modern feel,” said Gabe Bogue. “I just couldn’t be happier to be investing and opening a business in Jay County. I have so many friends still there and to be a part of that community again is exciting for Jen and I,” said Matt.
